Appetite for Destruction é melhor disco de metal

O Guns N' Roses foi o responsável pelo melhor disco de heavy metal de todos os tempos, de acordo com a equipe da revista de música Spin. Appetite for Destruction, o trabalho de estréia da banda, lançado em 1987, ficou no topo da lista dos 40 melhores álbuns do gênero que a revista publica em sua edição de setembro.

O disco de Axl Rose e sua turma tem os hits Welcome to the Jungle e Sweet Child O' Mine. O trabalho teve mais de 15 milhões de unidades vendidas apenas nos Estados Unidos. O disco sem título de 1971 do Led Zeppelin, conhecido como Led Zeppelin IV ou Zoso, ficou em segundo lugar na compilação, seguido por Paranoid (1971), do Black Sabbath; Master of Puppets (1986), do Metallica; e Back in Black (1980), do AC/DC.

O Led Zeppelin aparece outra vez na lista, em número 7, com Led Zeppelin II (1969). O Black Sabbath também está de novo no número 14, com Vol. 4, de 1972. A-Ha fecha mais datas para shows no Brasil

Além da 47ª Festa do Peão de Boiadeiro de Barretos, que acontecerá de 15 a 25 de agosto, o grupo A-Ha fechou mais algumas datas pelo Brasil. São elas: 14 e 15 de agosto no Credicard Hall, em São Paulo, 16 de agosto no ATL Hall no Rio de Janeiro e 20 de agosto em Porto Alegre, no Gigantinho.

O grupo norueguês está retomando a carreira com o novo disco Lifelines, lançado este ano. A turnê brasileira faz parte do projeto Kaiser Music, que já trouxe ao país Roger Waters no começo do ano. Segundo a assessoria do grupo, o show em Oslo, capital da Noruega, teve 23 mil pessoas no estádio Ullevål. No repertório, clássicos pop como Take On Me, Cry Wolf, Hunting High And Low e novas canções.(terra)

OZZY OSBOURNE is taking a three-week break from OZZFEST to spend time with his wife SHARON as she undergoes chemotherapy treatment.

System Of A Down will take over the headlining slot, according to www.ozzy.com. Ozzy will return to the tour in Denver on August 22.

"This has been one of the hardest decisions I've had to make and I'm hoping that my fans will understand," Ozzy said on his website. "Ozzfest must continue with or without me since it's Sharon's baby. I want to thank all the bands on Ozzfest and my crew for all their love and support, especially System Of A Down."

On the dates that Ozzy is not performing, Sharon has arranged for all fans attending Ozzfest 2002 to receive a free "special treat" from the food concessions at each show.(NME.com)

Mexico, Britney Says She's Sorry

Britney Spears' trip to Mexico was brief yet tumultuous.

When she arrived at the airport in Toluca (40 miles outside Mexico City) for the Mexican leg of her tour, she was reportedly photographed flipping the bird to the photographers gathered en masse to get a shot of her.

Later, to clear up any confusion, she said the gesture was not meant for her fans but rather for the paparazzi, who she claimed nearly caused an accident with her car.
If any of her fans were offended by her gesture, it wasn't evident the night of July 27 when she played to 50,000 fans at the outdoor Foro Sol stadium.

Unfortunately, on July 28, she brought the curtain down early on what was her second night in the city and last gig of the tour. Britney pulled the plug during the fifth song nd told the audience, "I'm sorry Mexico. I love you. Bye," Mexico City daily newspaper Milenio reported.

The audience reportedly erupted into jeers and boos and some threw Spears paraphernalia onstage and chanted "fraud, fraud," Milenio said. In its article, the paper didn't mention a reason for the show's early end.

But sources told POLLSTAR the sole reason was extreme weather. A summer thunderstorm moved in on the show and lightning apparently struck very close to the outdoor stadium. The source said Britney pulled the plug because she feared for the safety of the audience and the show's crew.
The following day, she approved the promoter, O.C.E.S.A. Presents, to refund the cost of the tickets to the concert-goers.(pollstar)

DAVE GROHL has told NME.COM that FOO FIGHTERS never came close to splitting, despite speculation that his commitment to touring with QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE had jeopardised his band's future.

Speaking from Los Angeles where the band are mixing their fourth album, ‘One By One', Grohl also dismissed rumours that the delayed release was partly due to record company fears that the new material was too uncommercial.

"There was never any talk of breaking up, there was never any talk from the record company that they didn't like the album," he stated. "It was just personal life decisions."

Grohl admitted that the band did have problems when they went into the studio last October, less than three months after drummer Taylor Hawkins was hospitalised after V2001 for what he later called "overindulgence".

"After that went down it scared the shit out of everybody and we thought ‘Let's stop for a while'," explained Grohl. "Then we thought the one thing that could heal us was working on the record and honestly, I don't think we were ready to go in yet. After two and a half months of recording, it became a chore. We didn't feel like the luckiest people in the world like usual. "At the same time Queens Of The Stone Age asked me to play a show with them and it was fucking great. It was like ‘My heart is telling me I should experience this' - for the love of music, for my love of their new record and also to prove to myself that I could. Queens Of The Stone Age have always been Josh and Nick and 50 million other people so they were this band I could finally have this fantasy with."

While Grohl's appearance on the Queens ' forthcoming album ‘Songs For The Deaf' caused little concern, news that he was postponing the recording of ‘One By One' to tour with them triggered rumours that the Foos would split. Grohl, however, explained the band just needed to "take a break".

He said: "I told the guys ‘I'm going to do this for a while, let's back off from making the record. We can do whatever we want to do'. I get some person on the telephone from a record company telling me what to do, then I'll do the exact opposite. I worked pretty hard for a long time, I'm gonna do something that I want to do and in doing that, it made the new Foo Fighters record ten times better than it was six months ago."

The Fooss even put up a sign at T In The Park when they played to explain that all was fine with the band and their new album.

Speaking about the Queens gigs, Grohl admitted: "It felt good for about a week and then I started to miss it because they're my family [Foo Fighters] and they're my best friends and they're my favourite band. I loved playing with Queens - it was a hard-on the whole time - but I missed my band too."(NME.com)

Baterista do Slipknot planeja projeto solo

O baterista Joey Jordison do grupo de hard rock Slipknot
está planejando um projeto paralelo para esse verão.
O Slipknot é composto por nove nativos da área Des Moines
conhecidos por suas máscaras grotescas e metal extremo.
A banda, que eles começaram em uma garagem de
Urbandale, Iowa, EUA, no meio dos anos 90
ganhou duas indicações ao Grammy
e vendeu milhões de cópias de seus CDs pelo mundo.

Jordison se juntou com Tripp Eisen do Static-X para formar o Murderdolls.
Eles vão lançar o disco de estréia, Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls,
em 20 de agosto. A inspiração para as letras vieram de filmes de terror.
Entre os títulos das músicas estão She Was A Teenage Zombie
("Ela Era um Zumbi Adolescente") e B-Movie Scream Queen ("Estrela de Filmes de Terror B").

O Joey NÃO USA MÁSCARA mas, pela foto, é bem como o assessor de imprensa do 'Knot falou:
"o Joey é quase a mesma coisa sem e com máscara, nem vão perceber que ele tirou"
a banda é um sarro, na kerrang dizia que era "uma mistura de Misfits e Rob Zombie", mas é muito foda,
bem hard rock, lembra muito Skid Row!!!

O vocal é hora Sebastian Bach e hora
Whitfield Crane (ex-Ugly Kid Joe) e as músicas são muito foda, tem vários
trocadilhos imundos, uma chama "Love At First Fright" ("hein, hein, não sei se cê entendeu")!!
O visual é muito glam, muito anos 80, é igual White Stripes, só pq é "Black Stripes" hehehehe
eles usam tudo em vermelho e preto (inclusive as cabelas, e alguns ostentam umas dignas de um encarte
do Poison).

Já do Stone Sour eu não vi nada ainda...

Na edição seguinte da kerrang ia sair a primeira "entrevista" com o Murderdolls,
mas eu não sou dona do Mastercard...
